Larry Michael Tanner, 50, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
"Mike" was born on August 10, 1963 in Rawlins, Wyoming  the son of Martha (Rodda) Tanner and the late Larry M. Tanner. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.
Growing up, Mike enjoyed youth activities at Trinity
Lutheran and was a ten year member of the Roses and Ranglers 4H club. Mike graduated from Campbell County
High School in 1981 and later graduated with an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology from WyoTech, University of Wyoming. From playing in his Collins Heights neighborhood as a child to camping and fishing at Rock Creek to hunting in the Big Horns, Mike always enjoyed being with family and friends.  He also had a good time playing darts with his many friends. His nieces, nephews and great nephew held a special place in Mike's heart. He enjoyed every minute of the train trip he and his mother, Martha, took last year to Iowa and their visit with brother Doug and family.  He thought the world of his sister-in-law Pam. Mike was always a devoted son and brother. His little sister Carol adored her "Bud" as he did her. All through his life, Mike enjoyed the work he was involved in: from retail work in high school to oil field work with Updike's to mechanical work, tire repair for Big Horn Tire to his last job as Receiving Manager for Home Depot. Mike was an avid Raider fan and enjoyed friendly rivalry with fans of opposing teams especially his Bronco fans family.
Mike is survived by his mother, Martha, brother Doug, sister-in-law Pam, nephew Matt Tanner, niece Amanda (Cory) Tagtow, great-nephew Drake Tagtow and extended family Brenda, Dustin, Bridget and Brooke Cargal, Kayla Tonn and Kylie, uncles Roger (Rita) Pansch and Les (Loretta) Tanner, great-aunt Evelyn Morris, aunt Bev Surrency, step-mother Dorothy Tanner and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry, sister Carol Tanner, great-uncle John A. Morris, aunt Barbara Pansch and maternal and paternal grandparents.
