Chase Allen Weeding

July 21, 1985 — April 12, 2024

Buffalo

Chase Weeding, 38, a beloved partner, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson and friend passed away April 12, 2024, in Deadwood, SD after a tragic accident.

Chase was born July 21, 1985, to Dan and Valerie Weeding of Gillette, WY.  Chase grew up in Gillette, enjoying everything from Boy Scouts, soccer, tee-ball, karate to archery.  Chase looked forward to the annual summer trips to Minnesota to spend time with his cousins.  Chase enjoyed beating his dad at a game of golf and was a Minnesota Vikings fanatic.

Chase graduated from Campbell County High School in 2003, with high high hopes of traveling, exploring this beautiful world and feeding his soul by feeding people.  But first, he made sure to spend time with everyone; having never met a stranger.  Weekend poker nights and karaoke are still some of the favorite memories with his friends.

He started his journey into cooking working locally at Prime Rib, Pokey's and Pizza Carrello. Chase headed to California in 2012, where he attended and graduated from the San Diego Culinary Institute.  This was the catalyst to advancing his life and career to levels he had only dreamed of.

Chase returned to Wyoming where he planted himself in the beautiful mountainside town of Buffalo.  He became "Chef Chase" at The Cantina, working for Mark and Dawnille Riddle.  Dreams grew big and quickly he developed Buffalo's first 5-Star menu and restaurant, 4th on Main.  This restaurant quickly became a local favorite and sought out by travelers from all over the world.  Chase's culinary creations were an experience in themselves.  4th on Main was Chase's pièce de résistance.

During Chase's time in Buffalo, he met the love of his life, Tiffany O'Neil.  He quickly became best friends with her children and enjoyed every minute spent with them.  Lake trips, family game nights and recently the addition of ducks, turkey and chickens....Chase finally had his perfect little family.

Chase is survived by fiancé Tiffany O'Neil and her children Alexandra, Mackenzie, Van and Lane, Father Dan (Sherry) Weeding, stepbrothers Justin Emery, Shawn Emery, Jesse Emery, Sister Carrie Anne Ellison (Quenton) Niece Tajah Edwards, Sister Christina Dodge (Joe), Nephews Jack and Luke Dodge, Grandmother Sharon Henrichs and Grandmother JoAnne Weeding, Stepbrothers Zach Browen and Jeremy Browen.

He is preceded in death by Mother Valerie Weeding, Stepfather Ronald Browen, Grandfather Denis Weeding, Grandfather Allen Hudson, Grandmother Janet Hudson and Uncle Mike Weeding.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Gillette Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm.  A burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah followed by a luncheon at the American Legion Post #42.

Flowers, cards and condolences can be sent to Gillette Memorial Chapel at 210 W. 5th Street Gillette, WY 82718.
