Warren William Evans “Babe”, 71, passed away peacefully in his home on January 16, 2026. Babe was born July 24, 1954 to Warren and Dorothy (Worman) Evans in Gillette, WY. He grew up in Gillette with his three siblings, Randy Evans, Penny (Evans) Kramer, and Jeff Evans.
Babe attended Campbell County High School and it was there he would meet the love of his life. In 1972 after high school, Babe enlisted in the Army and married his beloved wife, Sharon. He was stationed in Giessen, Germany at the US military base and was there for two years. He then was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, California where he completed his service and was honorably discharged.
In 1977, Babe and Sharon moved back home to Gillette and started their family. Having their first son, Levi in February 1978, second son, Mark in April 1979, and third son, Paul in May 1981. Then in November 1983 they had their daughter, Cassie. Babe went on providing for his family working at Thunder Basin Coal Co. and Coal Creek Mine, retiring after 35 years. Babe loved being a grandpa. He had five beautiful grandchildren, Trever, Braylon, Ali, Tristan, and Beckett.
Babe enjoyed fishing with his children and friends. He also enjoyed watching and rooting for his favorite sports teams, New York Yankees, Chicago Bears, and Wyoming Cowboys.
Babe is survived by his love of his life, Sharon Evans; children, Levi Evans, Mark Evans, Paul Evans and Cassie (Evans) Iverson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his best dog, Grace. Condolences may be sent in care or Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
