A celebration of life for Victor Alan Vedsted, age 70 of Gillette, Wyoming, will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:00 am at New Life Wesleyan Church, 1000 Comanche Ave. with a luncheon to follow. Vic passed away due to natural causes on May 3, 2026 in Gillette, Wyoming. Vic was born in Sterling, Colorado to Jack and Patricia Vedsted on July 6, 1955.
As a child Vic and his best friend/younger brother Jim enjoyed being outside and exploring. Vic graduated in 1974 from Sterling High School. Shortly after High School he moved to Salt Lake City, UT to work for a fiber glass company. Upon returning to Sterling, Vic worked as a boat mechanic at the North Sterling Reservoir, while also re-hauling sugar beets in the Fall. Vic met Cindy at the marina, she was a store clerk. This is where Cindy and Vic began their love story.
In 1976, he went to work for Cable Inc. an oil field service company as a hydro-tester/slickline operator.
Vic married his devoted wife of 49 years, Cindy Miller, on August 27, 1977. Shortly after being married in late 1978, they moved to Gillette, WY so Vic could manage the Cable Inc. branch.
In May 1982, Teran was born and then in 1984 Tyson joined the family. That was when deep meaning and love really began. Also started many adventures including a Hobie Cat sail boat and lake experiences in the area, and a very memorable trip to Lake Powell. Life was eventful then which included raising small children, a career, building a house, and with Vic building a shop himself.
In 1996, Vic and Cindy with partner Dean Aldinger started a new chapter creating from the ground up TNT Hydro-Line Inc., an oilfield service company. TNT is named after their children.
Vic was a meticulous craftsman, in metal and wood work. This talent was reflected in designing and building multiple one-of-a-kind service trucks.
He valued time with his family, four-wheeling and camping in the Big Horn Mountains and taking family vacations. Then in 2011 they purchased a cabin in Pine Haven which led to many more adventures and memories.
Vic enjoyed his job and was extremely proud of his son, Tyson working in the business and learning all about the oilfield for 18 years +. Tyson later taking over operations of the business in 2019. Vic’s cherished grandchildren Willow (2018) and Ruby (2020) were born.
Vic retired and many joyous ventures began in the form of an Earth Roamer (off-road RV) and ATV’s. Vic and Cindy enjoyed meeting new friends and traveling around the U.S. with Earth Roamer meetups and rendezvous. Once a gear head, always a gear head as Vic continued to modify and optimize their travel equipment.
Vic always was making friends and spreading sarcasm anywhere he went from the waitresses, store clerks to his family and friends. He was also a lover of all critters and he would get on ground level so they could love and mal him.
Vic is survived by his wife, Cindy; his two children Teran and Tyson (Tabitha) and granddaughters Willow and Ruby of Gillette, Wyoming. His brother Jim Vedsted (Debbie) of Sterling, Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Vic’s name to benefit Pine Haven Fire Department. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
