Theresa Ann Gales

Memorial service for Theresa Gales will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Marty Crump officiating. Beloved mother and daughter, Theresa Ann Gales, passed away on March 20, in Colorado Springs, CO, at the age of 61. Theresa was born on July 14, 1961, to Edwin and Maria Roswold in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. Theresa spent her childhood growing up in Germany and Holland and moved to the United States with her family at age 17. She lived in Colorado Springs, CO, and moved to Gillette, WY. In 1983, Theresa met the love of her life and “ride-or-die” partner, Douglas Eugene Gales. They were married December 29, 1987. Together, they raised three children, including Adrian, Nicole, and Shelby. Theresa deeply cared about her family, friends, and neighbors, and was known for helping others in need. She often showed her love through her incredible meals. She was a skilled cook, who took great pleasure in providing food that was made of quality ingredients and that took time to prepare. Her family heritage and life experiences in Europe helped shape her memorable dishes. She especially loved being able to feed the many friends of her children who found themselves at her home at mealtime. There was just one caveat, Theresa cooked, she didn’t do the dishes! Theresa raised her children to have a strong work ethic, and measure someone by their character, not by their bank account. Theresa and Doug made sure their children had amazing memories traveling across the country, such as camping at Keyhole, experiencing the Albuquerque balloon festival, or enjoying the sights and sounds of Las Vegas. In recent years, Theresa’s greatest joys were her grandchildren. She loved them with her whole heart, enjoyed spoiling them with presents, and of course, making them the food that she became so well-known for. Theresa was preceded in death by Doug in January 2021 after his courageous battle with COVID-19. With a broken heart that never healed, Theresa will be laid to rest alongside Doug, to spend eternity together. Theresa is also preceded in death by her father, Edwin, and her siblings Diana and Edwin Jr. She is survived by her mother, Maria Roswold; children: Adrian (Katy) Alvarado, Nicole (Serena) Jeffress, and Shelby (Jasmine) Kaul; grandkids: Kale, Bergen, and Vivian Alvarado, and Mordekai Kaul; brothers: Michael and Edwin (Cheri) Roswold; and numerous nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
