Funeral services for Terry Geer will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Gordon Harper officiating; followed by interment at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Terril “Terry” Geer was born on October 27, 1946 in Hot Springs, SD and passed away on October 6, 2018 after a short battle with brain cancer. Terry returned home when he was three days old to Gillette, where he attended school and graduated in 1966 from Campbell County High School. Terry enlisted in the National Guard, which he served for 16 years. Terry married Judy Breed in November of 1968. Together they had two boys, Donny and David. Terry ran the youth bowling program at Camelanes Bowling Center for 42 years. He also loved to take his boat out to go fishing. He enjoyed camping, playing cards and board games. Terry loved spending time and being involved with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. He had a great sense of humor and liked to play tricks on those he loved. Terry is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Donny (Tarah) Geer and David (Tina) Geer; Misty Geffre (Voegle) Donny’s 1st wife – the daughter he never had; Eight grandchildren, Kaila (Chad) Horst; Justen Geer; Abby Williams; Andria Williams; Allie Geer; Jesse Koch; and Jake Geer; three great-grandchildren, Emmalynn Horst; Adaleigh Horst; and Kashton Geer. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy McColley; along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and relatives. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Newt Geer and Faye Nelson; grandparents, William and Nita Pacot; Willis and Zelda Geer; grandson, Donald Geer Jr; and brother, Billy McColley. The family request that memorials be made in Terry’s name to Terry Geer Scholarship Memorial Fund which will be awarded to youth bowlers.
