Stacy was born on April 6, 1972 in Casper, WY to Darr and Donna Hammond. She was their only child. She spent the first part of her childhood growing up in Glenrock, WY and traveling to Casper often to spend time with her Aunt Judy and cousins Chance and Trey. Darr, Donna, and Stacy moved to Gillette, WY in the early 1980’s. She graduated from Campbell County High School in 1990. She married Marvin Bushor later that year and in 1991 they welcomed their daughter, Darcy Querida Bushor into the world. They later divorced.

Stacy went to work for Campbell County School District in the grant department in the mid 90’s. In 2001, she met Brett Allan Dayton at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Three months later they were engaged and on November 17, 2001 they married in that same church. Brett had 3 children, Christian, Jordan, and Madison from a previous marriage and she loved them hard and took them in as they were her own.

In 2007 she left her job, then a secretary at Conestoga Elementary within Campbell County School District to go to work for her dad at his business, D & DJ Oil Tools, Inc. as his secretary. Brett often joked that it was her favorite place on earth and she absolutely loved being there. Over time Brett, Darcy, Christian, and Darcy’s husband Jeff would come on and work there in different roles.

Stacy was well loved in her community. You often couldn’t get through a meal in a restaurant without running into someone she knew. She participated in her church community in various capacities over the years in the form of marriage encounter, prayer group, sound board, and adoration. Stacy delighted in her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to throw parties for them at every holiday. She worked hard, laughed harder, and loved beyond measure. It’s no wonder her heart gave out with all the love she put through it all these years. She loved Bon Jovi, reading crime novels, crocheting, quilting, and had her comedies that she loved to watch.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Darr M. Hammond, Shirley Hammond, Wilbur Stocking, and Bernice (Juneaux) Stocking; and her uncles Burt Warne and Don Welch.

She is survived by her parents, Darr and Donna Hammond; her husband Brett; her children and their children: Darcy and Jeff Nelson; Christian, Ashton, Kaiden, and Collin Dayton; Jordan, Lorenzo, Isabella, Connor, Brinley and Eevie Dayton; Madison, Paisley, Piper, Refugio, and Leonardo Dayton.
