Scott Allan Mittlieder

August 30, 1962 — March 6, 2023

Gillette

Scott passed away Monday, March 6th, 2023 from a sudden cardiac death. He passed away at his home in Gillette, WY. He is survived by his two sons Jason Mittlieder, Cheyenne, WY and Jeremy Mittlieder, Gillette, WY, one daughter Amanda Mittlieder, and sister Tracie Juby, Gillette, WY. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mittlieder, his two brothers, Todd Mittlieder and Joe Mittlieder, father Clarence Mittlieder, and his sister Sandy Sorenson. Scott was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 30th, 1962. He was very active in sports; spent most of his younger years playing baseball and was one of the best pitchers around.   He attended elementary school and some high school there before his family moved to Gillette, WY in 1978.  He was a journeyman plumber for most of his life. He worked for several companies in the area through Gillette’s many boom-and-bust seasons. Mostly he worked for his father Clarence “Sonny” Mittlieder. Scott lived a full life, among his many skills, his favorites were fishing, hunting, playing cribbage, and pool. He liked to brag that he caught a fish with his hands, and got a deer with a rock. Both stories are true. Scotts wishes were to be cremated, and his family will be following those wishes. His family will be having a celebration of Scott’s life in August. Condolences can be sent to Gillette Memorial, Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.
