Gillette

Scott Edwin Maas 58 years young, of Gillette passed away peacefully 7/20/23 at his home with his loving wife Mickey by his side. Scott suffered from long term health issues that were incurred in a work related accident in 1990. Although he lived with Chronic pain due to those injuries, he was relentless in his quest to live every day as if it were his last. Scott was born in Lewistown Mt on 5/24/1965 to Edwin and Berniece Maas. He was the youngest of 5 children. Scott was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling and was 100%, a pure adrenaline junkie. As much as he loved the outdoors, Scott loved his family even more and always put his family first. His grandkids were his life and you could always find him enjoying time in the outdoors with them and his beloved wife Mickey.  He was an amazing husband, father, stepfather, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and friend there ever was. Scott considered the mountains his refuge where he connected the most with God. Whether he was hiking, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, hunting,  fishing, or target practice; he knew how to live life to the fullest. Scott never missed an opportunity to teach someone something new. He was a genius at being able to design something in his head and then build it out of materials. Scott was an amazing Jack of all trades. Anyone who knew Scott, knew what a fighter he was and he fought and played hard until his body could no longer fight. He is survived by his wife Mickey, Dad  Edwin, children Samantha (Garner) Quigley, Danny (Sharron) Maas, Gary Maas, Kassandra Maas, Mellisa Maas, Nate (Melissa) Ratkovec, Josh (Megan) Ratkovec, Ben (Becky) Shottenkirk. Grandchildren

Averee, Leighton. Cami, Payton, Max, Baylee, Brayden Memphis, Parker, and Sylvia. Sisters Roxy (Bill) Sukup, Kim (Paul) Reese, Mona (Bob) Swanson, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mom Berniece Maas. Per Scott’s request, there will be no funeral or celebration of life and his ashes will be spread at the family ranch in Montana, with his Mom.
