Sarah Josephine Theunissen

Sarah Josephine Theunissen, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Monday, September 1, 2025. Sarah was born in Rawlins, WY in 1989 but lived 34 years of her life in Gillette, WY attending and graduating Westwood High School.

Sarah married Tylor Hackworth of Gillette and had daughter Brenna Hackworth in 2009, but later divorced. Sarah later married Jake Theunissen of Gillette and had one son Henry in 2015, and later divorced.

Sarah was a loving, committed mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece, and aunt. She loved her family more than anything, and always enjoyed being together. At the time of her death, she was a proud homemaker while enrolled in college classes to start this fall. Sarah was an avid reader, hockey fan, music lover, and loved being outdoors camping and fishing. She loved animals having many pets of all kinds over the years.

She is preceded in death by grandfather, Jack Hughes, and grandfather, Jim Woodward.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenna Hackworth; son, Henry Theunissen; mother, Annie Woodward; father, Leon Woodward; stepmother, Donnella Woodward; grandmother, Josie Hughes; grandmother, Verla Wick; grandmother, Alice Woodward; her four brothers, James Woodward, Travis (Danielle) Woodward, Jacob Woodward, Robert Woodward, four nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 20, 2025 at 11:00 am, at Gillette Memorial Chapel with reception to follow.

A fund has been set up for donations to Brenna & Henry for future needs and support, or flowers can be sent to Gillette Memorial Chapel.
