Richard Stainbrook

April 7, 1958 — August 18, 2024

Gillette

Richard Lee Stainbrook, 66, of Gillette Wyoming joined his father and brother in heaven on August 17, 2024. Born to James Elvin and Lenore Marie on April 7, 1958, then raised in Rapid City SD, and graduated from Central High School. Rick met and married Mary Foley in 1980, and relocated to Gillette Wyoming, where they brought five children into the world. Rick was very active in coaching, which brought in several other children in his lifetime. Rick's passions included hunting, fishing, and making memories with his grandchildren. Rick could often be found sucking up the nitro at the Drag races in Denver every summer or pounding the side of the mountain with his family every fall. Rick loved life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Rick worked 26 years at Wyodak and another 12 years at Peabody in Gillette. Rick was one hell of a mechanic and welder with many friends to atest to that. Rick was preceded in death by his father James and brother Randy. As well as his father and mother-in-law Jim and Betty Foley. Rick is survived by his best friend and wife Mary and children Elizabeth and Grant Wood, Rick and Shilo Stainbrook, Josh and Jess Stainbrook, James and Becca Stainbrook, Sarah and Aaron Krupp, mother Lee Stainbrook, sibling Lynn and Rod Metzger, Todd and Shelly Stainbrook, Joni and Neil Grawbow, Cheryl and Brandon Hurley, Lisa and Mike Morrison, and Pam Stainbrook. His pride and joy grandchildren Adam Stainbrook, Emma Stainbrook, Raechel Stainbrook, Abbiegail Krupp, Kaela Stainbrook, James Stainbrook, Troy Krupp, Austin Stainbrook, Megan Stainbrook, Hannah Wood, Simon Krupp, Shelby Wood, Madalynn Stainbrook, and Owen Stainbrook. Along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws.

A Rick-style celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 21 from 1 pm-5 pm at Rozet Bar and Grill. Come down to swap stories and strike up a conversation with a stranger in honor of celebrating a great man's life!
