Rebecca Ann Smith

May 1, 1962 — Sep 9, 2026

Gillette

Rebecca Smith, 64, of Gillette, Wyoming, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Rebecca was born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, on May 1, 1962, to Aldin and Sharon Reynolds. During her childhood, Becky and her family moved many times, living in Sheridan, Newcastle, Osage, Hulett, Union Center, South Dakota, and Springdale, Montana. She graduated from Sundance High School in 1980 and later graduated from Eastern Wyoming College in 1991. In 1983, Becky welcomed her first son, Tony, followed by her second son, Jon, in 1985. In 1993, Becky met the love of her life, Douglas Smith, while working at the entrance booth at Keyhole. They were married the following year on June 28, 1994, and went on to welcome three children, Larissa, Kandace, and James. Family was at the heart of Becky’s life. In 2015, she became a grandmother to twin boys, Gavin and Colton, and in 2018, she welcomed her granddaughter, Alannah. She treasured the time she spent with her family and friends and took great joy in watching her children and grandchildren grow. Becky was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and had a true servant’s heart. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. It was not unusual for Becky to meet someone new and, within 15 minutes, know their whole life story. She genuinely cared about people and loved hearing their stories. Becky had a creative spirit and always had a new idea or project in the works. She loved caring for her plants and tending to her beloved lilacs. She enjoyed painting, decorating, and redecorating her home, often transforming a room every few months. Her creative mind was always busy, and she frequently dreamed up new business ideas and found herself juggling multiple projects at once. One of her most recent goals was to learn to play the guitar in her newly redecorated music room—a perfect reflection of Becky’s adventurous, creative, and determined spirit. Rebecca will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Doug; her five children, Tony, Jon, Larissa, Kandace, and James; and her three grandchildren, Gavin, Colton, and Alannah. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rhonda, her maternal and paternal grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Memorials and condolences may be sent in Rebecca’s name in care of Jericho Baptist Church, PO Box 4164, Gillette, WY. 82717. Viewing for Family and Friends will be held at Jericho Baptist Church on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. located at 202 E. 8 St. Gillette, WY. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Sept. 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Jericho Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.  A time of fellowship will follow the interment at Jericho Baptist Church.
