Moorcroft

Michael J. Stein, 48, of Moorcroft passed away on September 10, 2024. Michael was born on June 18, 1976 in Mohall, North Dakota to Thomas and Karen Stein. The family moved to Gillette in 1977 where Mikey grew up. He married Kathy Blausey in 1998 and they had two children, Trevor and Kimberly. They later divorced.

After 20 years in the oil field industry, Mike worked at Eagle Butte Coal Mine for three years, until the time of his untimely death.

Mike is survived by his children Trevor Stein of Fort Worth, TX, Kimberly (Mason) Stein of Fort Worth, TX, brother Kirk (Pam) of Hendersonville, NC, brother Kirby (Jill) of Columbia, SC, sister Kristi (Dan) Trunk of Sundance, WY, sister Kendra (Robert) Brownfield of Evansville, WY, sister Tami (Tim) Klein of Ozard, IL, sister Tracy of Minot, ND, sister Ardelle (Lynn) Schmidt of Mohall, ND, in addition to various nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, TJ and Karen Stein and his grandparents.

A memorial service will be held on October 5th at 11:00am at Gillette Memorial Chapel. There will be a luncheon following. In honor of Mikey's memory, please do not dress up, but instead wear either a Denver Broncos T-Shirt or a T-Shirt with an eagle or an American Flag.
