Memorial service for Lucas Johnson will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jerry Taylor officiating. A visitation and gathering of friends and family will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. With hearts full of love and unimaginable sorrow, we announce the passing of our precious son, Lucas Daniel Johnson, who was born on July 18, 2026, at 22 weeks gestation. Though his time in our arms was heartbreakingly brief, his life was immeasurably meaningful. Lucas knew nothing but love from the very beginning, and he will forever remain a cherished part of our family. Lucas was everything we had dreamed of and more. He was sweet, innocent, a true blessing, precious, perfect, and so incredibly handsome. Though we were never given the opportunity to watch him grow, he will always be our son, and the hopes and dreams we held for him will forever live in our hearts. His dad looked forward to taking him on his very first hunting trip, teaching him about the outdoors, and making memories together beneath Wyoming skies. His mom dreamed of teaching him how to swim, comforting him through life’s milestones, cheering him on through every accomplishment, and watching him grow into the incredible person he was meant to be. We longed to witness his first smile, his first laugh, his first steps, his first words, his first sporting events, birthdays, holidays, family vacations, and every ordinary moment that would have made an extraordinary life. While those moments will remain dreams in this life, we find comfort in knowing that Lucas will forever be carried with us in our hearts. Lucas is lovingly survived by his father, Deric Johnson; his mother, Jacquelyn (Pownall) Johnson; and his big brother, Noah Johnson. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles: Stephanie (Rory) Record, Taylor (Rebecca) Pownall, Tyler (Trisha) Pownall, Rusty (Leah) Stevens, Robert Markve, Dylen Johnson, Deyton Johnson, and Draedyn Johnson. Lucas is survived by his grandparents, Steven and Crystal Johnson and Jack and Kari Pownall. His great-grandparents include Rick and Linda Lake, Candice Johnson, and Pete and Tanya Reynolds. He is also lovingly remembered by his cousins, Kaitlyn Record, Kamaryn Record, Hudson Pownall, Bryndal Pownall, Weston Pownall, Pierson Pownall, Hayzen Stevens, and many other beloved family members whose lives he touched forever. Lucas was preceded in death by his grandparents Tommy Johnson, Ronald Holbrook, Charlie and Shirley Mitts, Dean Clarke, Jerald and Phyllis Johnson, Eileen Hewgley, Art Reynolds, Joe and Mary Lee (Grandma Joe) Burney, and Marsha (Bambi) Pownall. He was also preceded in death by his aunt Carol Harper and his uncle Bret Richendifer. Although Lucas’ earthly journey lasted only a moment, the love he brought into this world will last a lifetime. He reminded us that a life is not measured by its length but by the depth of the love it creates. He will forever be our little boy, our greatest blessing, and a beautiful part of our family story. Our hearts will always ache for the life we didn’t get to share with Lucas, but we take comfort in believing that he is wrapped in perfect peace and endless love. Until the day we are together again, we will carry him with us in every sunrise, every quiet moment, every family gathering, and every beating heart. Our precious Lucas, You will never be forgotten. You will forever be loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and carried in our hearts until we hold you again.
