Larry Allen Hansen, 77, born July 4, 1949, was surrounded by family as he stepped into eternity on September 7, 2026. Larry was born in Rhame, ND, to Earl and Alvina (Eagon) Hansen. He was the second child and first son of what would become a family of six. He grew up ranching on the North Dakota-South Dakota border. Larry was drafted in 1969. He entered the United States Army and was sent to Vietnam, along with many others. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his heroism. He was a devoted husband to the true love of his life, Betty Hansen. (Schaaf) They were married in 1974 and again in 2012. Together they shared three daughters, Thersia Turbaville, Sasha Beck, and Trista Hansen. Larry dedicated his life to his girls and their families. You could often find him helping his daughters work on vehicles, home projects, and teaching them other life skills. His son-in-law, Jesse, became a cherished friend. They enjoyed countless hunting trips and worked side by side on many projects. Larry meant the world to his grandchildren. He was their “papa” and would do anything to help them. Papa taught his grandchildren skills such as woodworking, vehicle maintenance, the importance of accurate measurements, and the art of sarcasm. He was truly one of the hardest-working men you could meet. He believed in doing things the right way and never turned away from a hard day's work. Anyone who met Larry will remember his strong work ethic, dependable nature, and kindness to everyone around him. He was a man who kept his word. A true jack-of-all-trades, he took pride in providing for his family. He was the rock-solid foundation of our family and will be truly missed. We love you, Papa. Larry is survived by his wife, Betty Hansen; daughters, Thersia (Heath) Turbaville, Sasha (Jesse) Beck, and Trista Hansen; and his grandchildren and soon-to-be great-grandchild. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, there will be no service. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Walker Funeral Home 410 S Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716.
