Julie Ann LaVallie

Julie Ann Stickney LaVallie, age 68, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 22, 2026. Julie was born February 19, 1958 to Emily (Jaramillo) Stickney and Howard Stickney in Gillette, Wyoming. Julie was born and raised in Gillette where she attended Campbell County schools. She later got her GED. Her career in laundry started at the age of 16 at Norge Laundry Mat. At this age, she met the love of her life, Duane LaVallie. In 1974, they married and also welcomed with loving arms Duane’s son, Kevin. They welcomed their first daughter Tara two years after their wedding. The couple later had two more daughters, Chrystal and Angel. After having kids, she still continued in the laundry and dry-cleaning industry, where she finished out her career in 2023. In Julie’s spare time she loved spending time with her family, especially in the summer where she spent the majority of her time on the deck with her partner in crime, Dustin. When Julie wasn’t able to sit on the porch, you could find her watching the Hallmark Channel. Julie always enjoyed time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. They all meant the world to her. Julie is survived by her daughters Tara (Scott) Kercher, Chrystal (Johnny) and Angel LaVallie, and bonus son, Kevin Martin all of Gillette, Wyoming; 9 grandsons, 8 granddaughters, 7 great-grandkids, and 1 more on the way; sibling, Linda (Sam) Trujillo, and aunt Viv. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Howard, mother and father-in -law, and her lifelong partner, Duane Lavallie. Services for Julie will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Gillette, Wyoming on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Dan Holden officiating; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Following the interment there will be a gathering of family and friends at Sundance Lounge.
