Judith Ann Ludemann

March 2, 1939 — June 28, 2025

Upton, Wyoming

Longtime Upton resident, Judith Ludemann, 86, died Saturday, June 28th 2025, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life service begins at 1:00 p.m. August 1st at the Upton Community Center. She was born March 2nd, 1939, in Newcastle, Wyoming, to Art and Alma Hagerman. She was raised on the family ranch outside of Sundance, Wyoming, with her older sister, Donna, older brother, Gene, and younger sister, Dianna. Her school years were busy with helping out at the ranch and excelling in music. After graduating from high school, she attended Black Hills State College in Education. Judy met Dick Ludemann while Dick worked in construction of the interstate highway. Dick spotted Judy driving a tractor and decided she was the woman of his dreams. Later they were married on May 21st, 1960, and were blessed with four children, Richard Lee, Jody Maureen, Melody Ann and John Arthur. Judy was a dedicated teacher in Upton Schools for 40 years and influenced many of her students to become educators. She loved teaching almost as much as she enjoyed cheering for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their events. She also loved traveling with her best friend and sister Dianna Kraft. One of her favorite trips was traveling to Maine with her daughters and sister to watch her granddaughter's college swim meet. Judy also loved professional sports, and if she wasn’t rooting for her family at their sporting events or music programs, she was watching the Broncos, Nuggets, or Rockies. Just this last year John, her youngest, fulfilled a longtime wish of hers to see a Denver Nuggets basketball game. She was someone family could count on for anything. If you needed someone to sit with you at chemo treatments, travel to Denver with you because your baby was born with complications, or needed money to buy a service dog to help you with your seizures, she was who you called. Because of her passion for music, Judy was the director of the Upton Bell Choir, a group she loved deeply. She was also a member of the Stewart Cellar's Foundation Inc. because of her deep dedication to education. Mrs. Ludemann is survived by her children, Richard Ludemann (Karla) of Upton, Jody Ludemann of Gillette, Melody Brewer (Bill) of Cheyenne and John Ludemann (Teresa) of Gillette and sister Dianna Kraft of Moorcroft, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care of Gillette Memorial Chapel.
