John Hau, Jr.

John Hau Jr., 65, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away on May 31, 2026. Born on July 20, 1960, in Streator, Illinois, John Jr. lived a life marked by his many hobbies, including hunting and fishing, and a deep love for his family.
John Jr. was the beloved son of John and Dorothy Hau. He grew up in Streator, Illinois and attended Streator Township High School. After graduation in 1978, John Jr. moved to Gillette, Wyoming to begin a career with BNSF Railway, where he retired with 42 years of service.
John Jr. found immense joy in the outdoors. He loved to hunt for elk, moose, deer, antelope, and pheasants. In addition to many fishing trips, John Jr. hunted for deer every fall with his father and friends. He also had a love of music, which began with his first Fender guitar, and expanded into his recording studio, Hot Reelz.
He is survived by his parents, John and Dorothy, his sister Gail (David) Barton, niece Aleisha (Nathan) Barton, and nephew Aaron (Clare) Barton.
