Harold Alan Jenkins

Funeral service for Harold Jenkins will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at Gillette Memorial Chapel; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetary. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Harold Allan Jenkins passed away suddenly at the Gillette Memorial Hospital on March 8, 2019 at the age of 74. Harold was born in Sheridan, Wyoming July 20, 1944 to Lorna I. Nelson and Harold Jenkins.  He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1963 and had enlisted in the National Guard in 1962. On October 21, 1967 he married Diana G. Younkin in Casper, Wyoming and they were married 40 years until her death September 11, 2007.  They lived in Casper and Sheridan, Wyoming, Fort Collins, Colorado and Gillette, Wyoming for the last 38 years. Harold worked as a coal miner at Peabody Coal for 38 years and retired in 2012.  After retirement he traveled to Hawaii, Maine, Florida, Arizona, Texas and Montana where he spent time with family and friends doing what he loved to do, fly fishing. He loved the Denver Broncos and during football season he headed to Denver to treat family and friends to a game with his season tickets. Harold’s hobbies included bowling, photography and fly fishing.  He spent a lot of time on the Big Horn River with his young family camping and of course he would spend long hours fishing. Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Diana and his parents, Lorna and Harold Jenkins.  He is survived by his children, Scot A. Jenkins (Crystal D. Harris); and children, Sierra and Daelyn of Gillette, Wyoming; Sheila N. (Ryan) Gossens and children, Kaitlin and Kiera of Lovell, Wyoming, and Kristen L. Jenkins of Portland, Maine and brothers-in-law, William and Robert Younkin. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Harold’s name to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
