George M Kellam

Private family services for George Kellam will be held at a later date. George M. Kellam age 86, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Campbell County Health of natural causes. George Malcolm Kellam was born September 21, 1931 in Pawhuska, OK to Harry M. and Marguerite (Truasch) Kellam. The family moved to Luback, TX in 1936 and then to Hanna, WY in 1938 where his father was the pastor of the Episcopal Church. Later moving to Ethete, WY on the Wind River Indian Reservation in 1942; then to Lamb, IN the same year when his father went on active duty as a chaplain during World War II. The following year they moved to Gillette, WY and then back to Lamb, IN in 1945 when his father died at Fort Meade, MD. He once again returned to Gillette, WY where he graduated from high school in 1950. George went on to attend the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1954; at which time he entered the US Army serving for two years in Austria and Italy. After his military service he returned to Laramie, WY for two years. George then went to work for Saunders Lumber Company in Gillette, WY in 1958. He married Mary Ellen Doud in 1961 the couple divorced in 1971. George married Carolyn Shambaugh in Las Vegas, NV on February 17, 1999. George is survived by his wife, Carolyn; stepsons, Ben Doud; Neal (Cindy) Shambaugh; stepdaughters, Deb Avery and Sue (Kenny) Romero.
