Eileen Marie Suchor, 81, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at her home in Gillette, Wyoming, surrounded by her family.
A Gillette native with deep family roots, Eileen was the daughter of William J. and Vera Appel. She was married to William J. Suchor for 58 years; they met in Gillette, where they built their life and raised a family. They owned homes in both Gillette and Pine Haven, WY. For the last 20 years, they lived full-time in Pine Haven with a westside view of Keyhole Reservoir. This was her true place of respite and joy—pulling water skiers and tubers, catching a few fish, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and celebrating many big family Christmases. They spent lots of time enjoying the open spaces and building a business. Eileen and Bill co-owned Suchor Concrete Construction for over 50 years. Eileen managed the company with Angela Kennedy and Lori Love to keep the business running smoothly and having lots of fun along the way. Later in life, she reached a personal milestone by earning her bachelor’s degree from Regis University.
Eileen was the cornerstone of her family. Her homes in Gillette and Pine Haven were always open to others. An avid cook with hundreds of cookbooks, she found her greatest joy in the lives of her children and grandchildren, remembering every detail of their stories and interests. Her faith and her love for Christmas were central to her life; she filled her home with nativity scenes and a dedicated Christmas Village room to delight her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephews, Tim and Jeff Reed, sister-in-law, Sherry Appel.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Bill; her son, Brett; her daughter, Jennifer; and daughter-in-law Christine. Her family includes her sister, Audrey; her brother, Bill Appel; her brother-in-law, Charles Reed; four grandchildren, Jonny, James, Roman, and Felix; and three nieces, Angela and Jon Kennedy, Tiffany Cholez, and Melanie and Thomas Sylte, along with their families and six great-nephews: Jared, Josh, Christopher, Connor, Hunter, and Hayden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eileen’s name to Paint Gillette Pink. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be expressed at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
