Docia Murl McCue

Docia McCue, age 86, passed away at the Campbell County Close to Home Hospice House Friday, March 27, 2020 following a short illness.  She was born December 31, 1933 to Pled and Florence Connally in Planview, TX.  As a young child she moved with her family to Laguna Beach, CA and to Gillette, WY in 1944.  She met Jim McCue in high school and were married in May 1952.  They had three children, Kay, Peggy, and Jimmy.  Docia co-owned a motel with her husband for 10 years, worked as a bookkeeper at the First National Bank, and as a clerk at the Campbell County Treasures’ Office.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate of 65 years, her parents, and two brothers.  She is survived by one sister, Floriece Papenfuhs of La Grande, OR; daughter Kay Haberstroh of Gillette, WY; daughter Peggy Fleck of Rapid City, SD; son Jimmy McCue of Gillette, WY; granddaughters Kylie Medina of Arvada, CO; Michelle Vinatieri of Las Vegas, NV; Cori McKenney of Gillette, WY; Heather Heth of Lusk, WY; three great-granddaughters; and six great-grandsons.
