Dennis Rogers

On January 11, 2026, Dennis Eugene Rogers (Denny) died peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family. Dennis was born on February 12, 1939, to Ralph and Anna Rogers in Big Springs, Nebraska. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Jim Rodgers, Jerry Rogers, sisters, Daphine Rogers and Deanna Ryle. He grew up in Nebraska, and later joined the US Navy, where his service took him to various places around the world. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Clara Faye Burke. Together they raised four children. Over the years, Dennis worked in the oil fields, water drilling, and the coal mines. When the children were growing up, many weekends were spent enjoying the outdoors, camping and fishing. They especially enjoyed their times at Cook Lake. In later years Dennis and Faye continued to enjoy camping and traveled to many places including Niagara Falls, Florida, and the Grand Canyon. Although he loved teasing and interacting with those around him, Dennis was generally a man of few words. He knew how to do things, kept up with current events, and had a wide range of experiences, but he kept much of this information to himself. He once casually referred to a plane crash he had been in as a child that he had never mentioned to them before. Dennis enjoyed watching old TV programs, especially old cowboy movies (always with the volume up very loud). When the kids were growing up, he was very capable in the kitchen. He was known for making a mean clam chowder, fried chicken every Sunday, and delicious potato salad (notoriously heavy on the onions). As his health declined, his biggest frustration was not being able to do the things he had once been able to do. He never got used to needing assistance and often “forgot” to ask for help when he needed it. In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by his children Duncan Rogers (Shawna), Robin Rogers (Cheryl), Miles Rogers (Jessie), and Wendy Soukup (Rob). He is also survived by grandchildren Matt, Casey, Brandon, Andrew, Jacob, Brooks, Preston, and Sylvia as well as 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by a cherished extended family, especially Roger and Jane Johnson and Alice Bolin. The family would like to thank Campbell County Hospice, EMS, Campbell County Health and Banner Wyoming Medical Center for the wonderful care he received. There will be no service at this time.
