David Michael Herman

David Michael Herman, of Gillette, passed away on December 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Campbell County Health. He was born on December 20, 1991, in Gillette, Wyoming. David's passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends. David had a diverse career and worked several jobs throughout Gillette, but his passion was being a chef.  He loved to dream up unique combinations of ingredients to make something awesome. He graduated from Campbell County High School in 2010, where he made lifelong friendships and lasting memories. Outside of work and school, David found solace and joy in various hobbies and interests. Art allowed him to express himself creatively, while music stirred emotions deep within his soul. Fishing and camping at Sand Creek brought him closer to nature and provided peaceful moments of reflection. A Memorial Gathering will be held on December 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gillette Memorial Chapel located at 210 West Fifth St. Friends and family are welcome to come together during this time of remembrance and share stories that celebrate David's life. David's passing serves as a reminder of the fragile nature of life and highlights the importance of cherishing the time we have with our loved ones. He donated his corneas so someone could have a chance to see again. His kindness, compassion, and genuine interest in others will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. David is survived by his parents Jerry and Wendy (Barthel) Herman; brothers, Josh Herman, and John (Sarah) Herman as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Herman and two grandmothers and one grandfather.
In this time of mourning, let us come together to offer support, love, and solace to David's family. May his memories bring comfort to all who grieve his loss. David will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
