Dale came into this world on July 10, 1942 to Dell and Alice Sherman of Lusk, Wyoming. He grew up with sisters Wanda, Dee, Beverly and best friend and little brother, Joey. He spent a great deal of his time in Lusk getting into mischief on the ranch and the town of Lusk. He finished 8th grade and went on to work side-by-side with his dad doing oilfield construction. In 1964, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving two years.
In 1966, he met the love of his life, Christina May Slaybaugh of Buffalo. They married in February 1967 in Rapid City, South Dakota, where they resided for a short-time after being married. They moved to Gillette after a couple of months and then to Rozet. They were married for fifty years before his beloved passed from this earth.
They were blessed with two daughters during their marriage. Dale was a hardworking man. He worked for Campbell County Concrete, KG Construction and Magnum Construction. He spent many long hours moving heavy equipment during the formative years of Campbell County. Dale was blessed with five grandchildren, Clint, Jake, Tyler, Miranda and Becca that loved him dearly. His grandchildren spent many of their formative years being exposed to Grandpa's warped sense of humor.
