Clara Oakley

Clara Ann Oakley, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.

She had battled Cancer, COPD and Dementia for many years. Despite the battles, in the last few weeks of her life on this earth, she asked for a cross, and as her cross necklace was placed around neck, she brought it to her lips and kissed it. Even through the film of Dementia, she knew her eternal hope was only found in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.

We, her children, believe that she is finally at peace in the arms of Jesus, praising God in heaven. Although she endured many hardships throughout her life, her sweet spirit and unconditional love for her children remained until the end.

Clara was born on February 19, 1947 in Littlefield, Texas to O.D. and Esther Oakley and was the youngest of three girls.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her sisters, Kathy Bullard and Phyllis Taylor.

Clara is survived by her 3 children, Sonja Walter and her husband Duane, Sabrina King and her husband Garth (Buddy), and Crayden Burt and his wife Marissa. Her surviving grandchildren include Zane Walter, Kalin Timothy King, Breanna Hale and her husband Allen, Gerad King and his wife Senna, Taylor Burt and Mikayla Burt. Her surviving great-grandchildren include Amelia King, Emmett King, Autumn Hale, and Aspen Hale.

Clara was raised in Anton, Texas, where she graduated high school as an Anton Bulldog. She also served her country as a United States Marine in a high-pressure role of an elite secretary to Generals. At the high-level administrative position she served in, she was extremely accurate in both typing and taking dictation at rapid speeds. Clara later became a barber and had her own Barber Shop in Anton, Texas. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing, and especially tackling complicated reupholstery projects.

She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
