Chongmo Kim Williams

Jan 15, 1950 — Aug 13, 2026

Gillette

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chongmo Kim Williams on the 13th of August, 2026 after a short but intense battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born Jan 15, 1950 to Kim YongGi and Chae Sunai in Kunsan, Cholla-bukto, South Korea. She was married to Ronald Williams on Aug 17th, 1974. They moved to Lynnville, and then to Yankeetown, Indiana. In 1980 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming which became their home. Kim, as she preferred be known, was a dedicated wife and mother to her three children, as well as a valued member of our community. Not only did she work for the district court, the City of Gillette, and Rio Tinto, she also volunteered at the Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation (GARF), the hospice, and was a master gardener. She enjoyed fishing, her dogs, hanging out with her grandchildren, and hanging out in her garden (her yard has frequently been the envy of many!) She is survived by her husband, Ron Williams; her children; Jennifer (Eric) Stricklin, Jina (Eli) Harris, and Ryan (Hylaree) Williams; her two grandchildren Aidan and Natalie; her sister ChongSuk, her brother YoungHo, her brother in-laws Don and Dean, and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, her parents in law, her brothers KwongHo and ChongHo, her sister MiGyeong, two sisters who died in infancy, and her niece Su-Oak. A small private service will be held at the Williams residence with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date. Please feel free to leave condolences to the family here with Gillette Memorial Chapel and donations to the family to help cover the costs of her illness and funeral rites can be made here: https://gofund.me/478e4745b
