Cheryl (Cheri) Lee White, 76 years old of Gillette, Wyoming has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cheri crossed the finish line of her life on earth on the evening of July 27, 2025, at her home. Cheri is now enjoying life free from the pain of cancer and the confusion of 10 years of Alzheimer’s. Cheri was born on January 4, 1949, to Virginia (Finkler) Geib and Douglas Geib in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cheri grew up with three younger brothers, Doug, Mike, and Steve. Cheri attended and graduated from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids and continued her education graduating from Central Michigan University with a degree in Special Education. Cheri taught in schools in Tennessee and Virginia. In July 1989, Cheri met Mack White from Wyoming at an Amway Function in Spokane Washington. They each had been praying to God for a helpmate to complete their lives. After many letters exchange between them and long-distance phone charges (before cell phones) Cheri traveled from Virginia to Gillette, Wyoming to further check out this man she had only met for two days in Spokane. While in Gillette for a week or so they agreed that marriage on February 3, 1990, in Gordonsville Virginia and made their home in Gillette. They celebrated 35 years of happiness and joy together this year.

In 1992, Cheri and Mack adopted their son Joshua Dann at birth and six years later adopted twin girls Carrie Noel and Courtney Rose ages 8 ½. Cheri homeschooled her children involving them in piano lessons, speech crafters, 4H and the planting of a living snow fence. Cheri was a strong advocate for Right to Life. She dearly loved President Ronald Reagan and a huge John Wayne fan. She was enchanted by the Ann of Green Gables and Played the videos many times. Collecting pinecones, a favorite activity. Cheri had a collection of wreaths that she hung and displayed for each season and occasion. Roy Orbison, Susan Boyle and the golden 50’s was the music she enjoyed in recent years. Hats, lots of hats. Cheri had many hats, but a red hat is what she wore the most. In the last couple of years, she wore several hats at the same time, she had great fun at dances. Cheri was a longtime member of High Plains Community Church where she served as a greeter with her beautiful smile and welcoming hugs.

Cheri is survived by her husband and best friend, Mack White, daughter Carrie (Aaron), grandsons Atreyu, Castiel, Leonidas, and Olyrander Gregory of Texas, daughter Courtney White and grandson Jude of Texas, son Joshua and granddaughter Missy Lynn White and fiancé Erica Schumacher and children Jace and Kaylynn of Gillette, Wyoming, step-son Jeffrey (Ree) White, grandson Erik and great-grandson Nathan King of Cheyenne, Wyoming, step-daughter Aleta (Lars), grand-daughter Emie, grandson Trey Story of Cheyenne, Wyoming, brother Doug (Kathy) Geib of Ravenna, Michigan, brother Mike (Deb) Geib of LaCrescent, Minnesota, brother Steve (Sue) Geib of Ravenna, Michigan, six step sisters and three step brothers from lots of places and many nieces and nephews. On behalf of Mack, he would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice nurses and especially to Tiana, Jodie, Rachael and Anna of Kindred Souls for their compassionate care and love given to “my Cheri” that eased her pain and suffering in her final days of life. God had his hand in all of the care you gave. Mack would hope that you all remember Cheri as a sweetheart, but she was more than that to him, she was his gift from our loving God. Mack hopes that you all remember the smiles she generated by simply smiling her own smile and thanks you immensely for being here to celebrate the life she lived.
