Catherine Cardarelli

Catherine Cardarelli was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 5, 1944, to William Benjamin Teague, Jr. and Gloria Jones Teague. She graduated from the LA Art School and received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia. Her career in photography was international with work in: Washington, D.C.; San Francisco, California; Atlanta, Georgia; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Savannah, Georgia and Stavanger, Norway. Her last working years she taught photography at Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). In 2005, she retired to Wyoming, continuing to produce her Art. She volunteered as an interpreter at Devils Tower National Monument. That fall she traveled back to Georgia to teach at SCAD. In the summer of 2007, she came to Wyoming again and purchased a house and property in Hulett. She continued to travel back to Georgia in the fall to continue her teaching, and then back to Wyoming in the summer. In 2012, she came back to Wyoming to stay, and met Walter Daknis, and they became partners. She helped Walt with mowing and flower beds through 2025 and enjoyed her retirement from teaching. She loved her Sunday rides through our beautiful Black Hills with Walt, especially Devils Tower, Spearfish Canyon, and Custer. She passed peacefully November 8, 2025, at the Newcastle Hospital, Newcastle, Wyoming. She is survived by a brother, Benjamin; three nieces, Grace, Eulaliah, and Olivia; two grandnephews Logan and Alexander and a grandniece Liberty. There will be a private service for immediate family.
