Celebration of Life for Candy Lenz will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday May 24, 2019 at Walker Funeral Home with Erik Bergquist officiating. Candace Blanche Lenz 70, of Gillette, WY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Close to Home Hospice. Candy was born on June 29, 1948 Prairie du Chien, WI to Joy Blossom Walz and George Edward Walz. Candy lived in Eastman, WI until meeting Darryl Wayne Lenz, who she married. The couple had their one daughter, Tammy. The family moved to Gillette, WY for work. After 18 years of marriage Darryl and Candy divorced. Candy worked at Buttrey’s (Smith’s) Grocery Store until retiring and going to work for Campbell County School District. She loved to work with people and food. She always made everyone laugh and she was always in a good mood. Even through her fight with cancer was brief her spirit remained happy and she never let the cancer get her down. Candy is survived by her daughter, Tammy McClure of Gillette, WY; brothers, Doug Walz and Randy (Kathy) Walz of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Nicole McClure and Tristan McClure; grandniece, Colette (Mike) Difciullos and grandnephew, Kevin (Jillian) Walz. Memorials may be made in Candace’s name to benefit the Heptner Cancer Center. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Walker Funeral Home 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716.
