Betty Finch, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love. Betty was born on March 2, 1945, in Turtle Lake, North Dakota. She completed her primary and secondary education in Scobey, Montana, graduating as salutatorian of her high school class. She later earned a master’s degree in Food Nutrition with a minor in Biochemistry from Montana State University. While at college, Betty met the love of her life, Bill Finch. The two were married on February 21, 1969. Together they had three daughters. Betty worked at Pioneer Manor, first in the activities department and later as the dietary nutritionist. Later she worked in the Senior Center and as an election judge. Betty's generosity extended well beyond her professional responsibilities. She dedicated significant time as a volunteer, including coaching for Special Olympics, assembling holiday gift bags for children at 4-J Elementary, providing barber services at Pioneer Manor, and actively participating in Rita’s Rebels. In recent years, she routinely delivered Breanna’s day’s end donuts to various community organizations, earning her the nickname "The Donut Lady." Betty will be remembered for her joy she brought to others and unwavering desire to help. Her surviving family includes her brother Aubrey Engberg and his wife Linda, as well as her daughter Vera Neal and her husband Sam. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents Floyd and Elsie Engberg, brother Larry, sister Phyllis, and daughters Barbara and Karen.
