Barbara Ann Steen, born on January 16, 1952, in San Diego, California, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at Weston County Health Services. She is remembered as a loving wife, devoted sister, and cherished aunt. Barbara's life was a testament to her caring nature and vibrant spirit.
Growing up, Barbara was known for her determination and passion for helping others. She attended two years at a local college, where she pursued her studies in nursing while her husband, Duane Thomas Steen, served in the military. This dedication to the nursing profession showcased her profound commitment to the well-being of those around her.
Barbara's family mourns her passing but celebrates the countless memories shared throughout her life. She is survived by her brothers, Paul Zedicher and Ben Zedicher; her sister, Nancy Hundey; her sisters-in-law, Vonda Zedicher, Bonnie Hart, and Terri Schumack; her brothers-in-law, Martin Steen, Harold Steen, Russell Steen, and Jane Scherich; God-daughter Mariah Cossitt, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Each member of her family will hold dear the laughter, love, and warmth that Barbara brought into their lives.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Duane, and her siblings, Richard Zedicher and Dale Zedicher, who will be there to welcome her into eternity.
In honor of Barbara's life, a Celebration of Life service will be held on July 16, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather at Cottonwood Terrace, located at 703 W. 6th Street, Gillette, Wyoming, to honor and remember the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Though she is no longer with us, Barbara Ann Steen's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her life was one of kindness, strength, and compassion, qualities that will continue to inspire those left behind.
