Barbara Jean Marquard was born August 30, 1958. She passed away on January 5, 2026 due to medical complications. She was born in Deadwood, SD to Shirley and Clifford Schomer, but later moved to Libby, MT, then to Gillette, Wyoming. She has four brothers; Bob, Butch, Ed and Scott. She has three sisters; Candy, Denise, and Robin. She never really told stories from her childhood. She traveled the country and the world and received her GED in Germany. She loved camping, spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading her books and as she put it, rolling a game of Yatzee. She had a variety of jobs from being a flagger to bus driver, and ended her career as a loan officer at LoanStop, where she got to help others which she truly enjoyed. She was someone you could always go to for advice and gave her opinion whether you wanted it or not. She is survived by her three children, Randi (Matt) Peyrot (45), John (Elisha) Marquard Jr. (43), and Tyrell (Lexi) Marquard (36), and the love of her life, John Marquard Sr. (70), along with her four brothers and two of her sisters, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Barbara is preceded in death by her mother and father, sister Robin, and grandson Erik. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 2pm to 5pm at the American Legion Event Hall at 200 Rockpile Blvd, with Bill Languemi conducting the services. Mom, we hope you are two-stepping it across the sky. We will forever love and miss you. Love you mom. Oh, and don’t let grandma take all your pennies.
And as she always said, “Goodnight, sweet dreams, I love you, I will see you in the morning.”
