Arthur "Art" J Taylor

Memorial services for Art Taylor will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church (600 Longmont) with Brother Darrell Ray officiating; inurnment to follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Arthur “Art” Taylor, 83, of Gillette passed away June 21, 2018 at Close to Home Hospice House of natural causes. Art was born February 12, 1935 in Strattford, TX to Alfred J. and Henrietta (Reed) Taylor. Art’s early years were spent at their ranch, after graduating high school he joined the Navy and served for 16 years. In 1970, Art came to Gillette working oil rigs and various jobs; driving truck and bus for Powder River Transportation. In 1979, Art married Sandy Wilson in Gillette, WY and to this union a son was born, Arthur “Jay” Taylor II.

Art is survived by his wife, Sandy of 39 years and his grandson Alex Taylor of Lady Lake, FL. He was preceded by death by his parents, four brothers, and his son.
