Addison "Addi" Neugebauer Karr

July 7, 1994 — March 26, 2026

Addison “Kelsey” (Neugebauer-Christianson) Karr

A Celebration of Love and Life for Addison (Addi) will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at the WPA Building in the Camplex Park with her great uncle Martin Crump officiating. Because Addi loved getting out the camping chairs for fireworks, stargazing and watching her girls play ball, we ask those attending to bring their own camping chairs. Addi’s young daughter Emmerson requests the celebration concludes with a release of balloons (to find their way to her mommy in heaven) and a dance party to her, her sister’s and mother’s favorite song. Leanne Francis and Chris Donahue have made arrangements for Fun On The Go to be at the celebration for her girls. If Addi touched your life in any way, please join us in her celebration, share your stories with her girls and grab a bite for lunch (side dishes welcome).

Addi passed away on March 26, 2026, at the young age of 31, after a long journey with medical conditions and illnesses since childhood. Addi was born on July 7, 1994 in Gillette, Wyoming, living her childhood and majority of her adult life in Gillette. Addi spent her childhood surrounded by family that adored her and underwent her first surgery as an infant, life saving surgeries in her teens and ongoing surgeries throughout adulthood. Addi spent her childhood being a kind and compassionate child, she loved learning to cook, sewing, camping, 4 wheeling in the Black Hills, and had an early passion for the medical field. Addi was close to her childhood friends and still shared amazing bonds with them. Addi graduated early from West Wood High School in 2012, and became a cosmetologist in Rapid City, South Dakota, soon after beginning courses in the medical field.

Addi’s desire and passion for caregiving was shown in her sympathetic approach and commitment to helping others with their health care needs, enjoying her positions as a CNA, Level 2 CNA, Medication Aide and Medical Office Administrator at Westhills Village Clarkson Health Care from 2015 to 2017. From 2023 to 2025 she greatly appreciated the opportunity to work as a CCMA along side Dr. Billie Wilkerson, MD, at Family Health, and Sandra Ham, FNP, and Dr. Raoul Joubran with Gastroenterology Associates, P.C. Shortly before her passing, she took a position with Center for Solutions, where she was grateful to work for her employers Sarah Smith and Brenda Holroyd

Despite being told in her late teens that she would not be able to have children of her own, Addi’s greatest desire was to be a mother, and as was often the case with Addi’s medical diagnoses, in her mid-twenties she beat the odds and gave birth to the greatest loves of her life, Emmerson and Wednesday. Addi also had the joy of becoming a step-mother to Logan and Riley and deeply cared for them, forming a friendship with their mother Tonya Rushing as the two navigated co-parenting.

Addi loved planning events and trips for her girls, and their little friends, often renting hotel rooms to have pool parties, throwing over the top birthday celebrations, water parks, the circus, carnivals, Fun On The Go, Colorado children’s attractions, fancy resorts, movies at the theater, city pool and park days in Gillette and the surrounding areas. She enjoyed the great outdoors with the girls in the Big Horns, Keyhole, fall seasonal events in Casper, and Spearfish, and downtown trick-or-treating. Addi and her girls love climbing walls, trampoline parks, skating, and zip lines. She and the girls looked forward to ice cream shops, Boba’s, shopping trips with their penny bank budgets, and later making dream lists for the next excursion after they started saving again.

Addi loved time with her girls at home, including slumber parties, teaching them to bake, make their own BBQ ribs, decorating cakes and cookies, making Italian soda’s, playing dress-up, applying make-up, nail art and painting, movies nights, board games, dance parties, arts and crafts, jumping on the bed, and all the mischief Elf would get into at Christmas. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she jumped at the chance to put the decorations and tree up early as October with their make-up doll tree topper. Addi looked forward to preparing holidays meals and celebrating with family, and her special family of friends. She loved watching her girls play T-Ball, softball, and being a helper for Emmerson’s Girl Scout troop. Addi loved planning and making homemade costumes for her girls, making them blankets, being super silly, theater style popcorn and getting her family and friends to laugh with her quirky sense of humor. Whomever Addi came into contact with, she made an impression on their hearts that will last a lifetime. Addi is deeply missed in the lives of her young daughters, family and friends.

There are no words that could ever fully thank this community, our family, our friends, our co-workers, neighbors, her girls’ schools, her girls’ friends, and Addi’s friends for the outpouring of love, kindness, support, prayers and compassion shown to our family in this difficult time. We thank the entire crew at Steven Titus & Associates, and to Stacy Lara for stepping in to care for our family when the ground fell away beneath our feet.

Addi is remembered as a devoted mother who loved her girls with her whole heart, putting their needs above her own, and making sure they had close bonds with her family, who loved and supported her, and still enjoyed sleep overs with her parents and grandparents. Addi longed to be able to see her girls grow up to be anything they wanted, giving them room to grow their creativity, independence, and passions; Wednesday’s colorful artwork could often be seen on doorframes and walls, as well as glitter paint on the carpet and lipstick on mirrors; Emmerson’s drawings and canvas paintings adorn their home, as well as goop and kinetic sand under the sensory table. Both of her girls are young fashionesta’s, getting to mix and match their outfits as they saw fit for school, and her pink and teal stained marble sink is a precious reminder of mommy dying their hair for special days. Addi’s home was as much her sanctuary as it was an indoor playground.

Addi is survived by her Father, David Christianson; her Mother Tess Hanson (Neugebauer), and Step-Father Mark Hanson; Grandparent’s Gaylen and Darline Neugebauer; Step-Grandmother Darlene Hanson; Great Grandmother Marion Neugebauer; her Brother and Sister-in-Law Nathan and Leah Neugebauer; Baby Sister and Brother-in-Law Jordan and Ean Brown; Step-Sister Desiree Summers, Aunt Brenda Bishop, Aunt Lisa Kramer and Uncle Gary Milam; Aunt Laura and Uncle Wes Fleischhacker; Uncle Billy and Aunt Jolie Christianson; Aunt Annie and Uncle Marlon; Aunt Diane; Nephews Roman, Korbin and Watson; Step-Niece Layna Jane, Cousins Ashley, Tory, Alex, Andrea, Jenna and Will, and numerous great aunts, uncles, second and third cousins.

Addison is especially missed by her childhood friends, Leann Francis (her sister from another mister), Chris Donahue (her brother from another mother) and their daughter Alice, Katherine Starr, Richard (Bubba) and Sue (Nana) Francis, Sarah Graham, Ashley Sherman, and Sammy McCart. Addi was grateful for the friendships she made later in life with Ginger Fall, Chelsea Blake, Jade Williams, Kendra Wade, and Jennifer Swartz; as well as family friends Stacey Walker, Stacy Apodaca, Kathy Edelman, Kathy and Kelly Heying, and her Godmother Twila Stensland.

Our hearts find comfort in knowing that Addi is now healed and at peace in heaven watching over her girls along side her beloved Grandmother Trudy Christianson; Great Grandfather Ronald Neugebauer; Great Grandmother Susie Williams; Uncle Michael Bishop, Cousin Luke Christianson; Great Uncle Frank Dearing, and her Godfather Steve Stensland, her family adopted Uncles Michael Stevens and Danny Hollingshead, and dear friends Brian “Graham Cracker” and Jason Gromly.

Addi loved sunflowers, so if any are in bloom, pick a few on your way to her celebration.
