Flores left us to take his place with the Lord on Friday, July14th, 2006. Leo?s passing was a result of lung cancer which he had been battling for nearly three years. Leo was born in Uvalde Texas on December 22, 1929 to Ysidro and Margarita Flores. In his early years Leo worked as a migrant seasonal worker. He then met and married his beloved wife Amelia G Flores and together they had two children, a son Arnold Arthur and a daughter Alda Ema. He provided for his new family in Andrews Texas making them his first priority teaching them the value of love and sacrifice. He later returned to Uvalde Texas to live as a husband watching his son and daughter begin their new life as adults. In doing so Leo became once more a father to his grandchild Hector Medina where he worked as a carpenter and painter for many years. Leo lived the remainder of his life in Gillette Wyoming where he was employed with his son Arnold. He worked hard as a carpenter, and painter. Never did he let the threat of cancer keep him from providing for his family. He remained strong even through the last minutes of his passing life.Leo?s favorite pastime was taking trips to Deadwood. He was a Tin Lizzy regular and enjoyed being there with his family. Towards the end it was the moments spent there that briefly took away the reality of battling cancer. He also enjoyed fishing, yard work, but most important I would have to say that Leo truly cherished spending time with all of his family. That was the most important aspect in his life. Leo was a member of the Catholic Church as well.Leo is survived by his wife, Amelia, sons Arnold and Hector daughter Alda. His bothers Locadio, Jamie, Henry, and Jose sister Mary Ester. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and the sons and the daughters of his brothers and sistersHe was preceded in death by his father, Ysidro Flores, Brother Ernesto Flores, his sister Rosa Ortiz, and great grandchild Jacob Linn Flores. The Flores family asks that all Donations be sent in Leo?s name to Campbell County Healthcare Foundation to benefit Hospice of Campbell County Memorial Hospital for there love, care, and support so that there work may carry on for the aid of another. Condolences may be sent to Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W 5th St. Gillette, WY 82716 or via the web at www.stevensonandsons.com
