Funeral services for Everett Koenig will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge, South Dakota with Pastor Westerlund officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home on Saturday, July 22, 2006. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Mobridge, South Dakota.Everett Charles Koenig, age 75, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming of natural causes.Everett was born on January 6, 1931 in Mobridge, South Dakota the son of Henry and Margaret (Huft) Koenig. He was raised and educated in Mobridge until he joined the United States Navy from 1951-1955. Everett married Janet Steinlicht on august 19, 1956 in Mobridge, South Dakota. He attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota for 4 years and year at the University of South Dakota. Everett worked for his father in law at Home Gas and Machinery from 1957 until 1974, the company then changed the name to Ev?s TV and Appliance until 1982. He then worked as a representative for the Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance until he was diagnosed with Parkinson?s disease and entered the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette where he lived for 11 years. Everett was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge, South Dakota, past president of the congregation and a member of the choir, American Legion and the Moose Club. His hobbies were bowling, golfing, dancing, hunting and fishing. Everett is survived by his wife; Janet Koenig of Gillette, Wyoming, son; Gregory Martin (Juliann) Koenig of Brookings, South Dakota, daughter, Jelayne (Marlo) Schlomer of Gillette, Wyoming, 10 grandchildren: Lynnea (Bob) Bowden, Adam (Beth) Koenig, Josh Schlomer, Michelle, Analisa, Benjamin & Michael Koenig, Lauri Koenig, Marlayna Schlomer and Mandy Schlomer, 3 great grandchildren: Zoie, Logan and Xander Bowden.He was preceded in death by his parents and son Bradley Charles Koenig.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Everett?s name to Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 w. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com.
