Funeral services for Rita Elaine (Neely) Christensen, age 59, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Peggy Brown officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2006 from 3:00- 7:00 pm at Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home. Rita passed away of diabetic complications on July 20, 2006, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital. Rita was born November 24, 1946 in Tilden, Nebraska, the daughter of Dean and Anita (Johnston) Neely. Rita lived in Tilden, NB from 1946-1948, in Encampment, Wyoming from 1949-1964, Riverton, Wyoming from 1965-1989, and in Gillette from 1990 to present. While in Gillette, Rita worked as a sales representative for Fox Radio, The Advertiser and Ace Hardware. As the advertising manager of the News Record, Rita said, ?I loved my job at the News Record and all the wonderful clients I had. Advertising was a new adventure for me when I moved to Gillette and it has been very good to me.? Rita loved spending time with her children and husband Pat. She also liked camping throughout Wyoming, especially at Colter Bay, Teton National Park, lot # 10. Rita enjoyed shopping at the Wardrobe in Riverton, Wyoming, music and traveling. She was a member of the VFW, American Diabetes Assoc. and the Red Hats Society.Rita is survived by husband Patrick Christensen, sons Daren Collins of Phoenix, AZ, Paul Collins (Tami) of Gillette, and daughter Elaine Collins of Phoenix, AZ, one grandson, Maison Collins, and stepfather Don Carlson of Edgerton, WY. Rita was preceded in death by her mother Anita Carlson and father Dean Neely. Memorials to the Dialysis Unit at Campbell County Memorial Hospital may be made in Rita?s name.
