He graduated from high school in Fort Yates, North Dakota and continued his education at North Dakota State School of Science where he earned technical degrees in Radio Electronics and Radio Communications. He married Jerilyn Parks in 1975 at Lake Metigoshe, North Dakota. In 1977 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he began working for Gillette Electronics. He then worked for Joe?s Plumbing and Heating until he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2003. Lloyd went into remission for 2 years after his initial diagnosis. He spent that time fishing and kayaking at their cabin in North Dakota and traveling all over the world. Lloyd also enjoyed camping, drawing, painting, gardening, and working with his hands. He was an active person who didn?t let his diagnosis stop him. He inspired those around him with his positive attitude toward his disease. He lived strong.
