Funeral services for Loretta (Lori) Zahn will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the Price of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Chad Brucklacher officiating. Loretta (Lori) L. Zahn, age 67 of Gillette, Wyoming died on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of complications of cancer.Loretta Zahn was born on May 19, 1939 the daughter of Wilhelm and Clara (Reub) Werner in Center, North Dakota. She attended school in Oliver County, North Dakota. Loretta married Ted Zahn in Fountain, Colorado on February 8, 1958. They lived at various United States Army Bases around the country until the girls started school. Then they settled in Mandan, North Dakota. The couple and their family moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1978 to open a construction company. During the years she operated a storage unit, waitressed and owned the Husky restaurant. As her health declined she spent most of her time at home. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.Loretta is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Ted Zahn of Gillette, Wyoming; 3 daughters: Wanda Knudson of Bismarck, North Dakota, Brenda Holzer and Velma Gibbs both of Gillette, Wyoming; 1 son; Lee (Heather) Zahn of Gillette, Wyoming; 4 sisters: Wilma Frederickson of Missoula, Montana, Linda Wagner of Dickinson, North Dakota, Janice Sorenson of Mandan, North Dakota and Diane Schoenwald of Minot, North Dakota; 7 grandchildren: Becky (Jeremy) Wulf of Gillette, Wyoming, Wendy Dougherty of Longview, Texas, Josh Knudson of Bismarck, North Dakota, Kelsie Knudson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lori Dougherty of Bismarck, North Dakota, Greg Dougherty of Norfolk, Virginia, Easton Zahn of Gillette, Wyoming, 1 great granddaughter Taelor Volk of Gillette, Wyoming and very special friends Les and Brenda Davis of Pekin, Illinois.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Melvin and Nester and sister Betty.Memorials are suggested to benefit the High School Rodeo Club.
