Memorial services for Joyce Reed of Rozet will be held at 3:00 p.m., November 16, 2006, at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Morel of the Family Life Church officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin 1:00 pm. Buffet and reception will be held after the services at the Rozet Bar in Rozet, Wyoming. Joyce died Sunday November 12, 2006, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming, from liver complications. Joyce Elaine was born December 28, 1947, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Woodworth Nelson. As an infant Joyce moved with her family to Wyoming. It was in northeast Wyoming that she was raised and educated. Joyce married Gail Eugene Reed on August 24, 1973 in Gillette, Wyoming and spent most of her years caring for her family. Joyce and Gail later divorced. In 1996, Joyce began cooking for several different restaurants including The Bear?s Den, Camellanes, Frontier Lanes, and the Fireside Caf. Joyce was a long time league bowler and was an active member of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting doilies that she as gifts. She was an avid reader reading mostly murder mysteries and watching Crime Scene Investigations and M.A.S.H. Her favorite thing of all was cooking for her family and friends and trying new recipes by Paula Dean. She collected turtles boasting a collection of over 400. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but mostly she loved the company of her special friend Ted Thomas. She is survived by her significant other, Ted Thomas, daughter; Angie Smith of Rozet, Wyoming, 2 sons: Glenn (Crystal) Reed of Moorcroft, Wyoming and Charles (Carrie) Reed of Gillette, Wyoming, 3 sisters: Helen Baker of Nebraska, Brenda Doetker of Nebraska and Vickie Berry of California, 3 brothers: Danny Nelson of Colorado, Ernie Nelson of Newcastle, Wyoming, Brian Nelson of Gillette, Wyoming, 6 grandchildren: Casara Dodd, Joseph Smith, Sapphire Sulzbach, Dylan Reed, Tynan Reed, and Brooklin Reed, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Peggy Trisler, and grandson Matthew Smith.
