Memorial services for Estella Ruth Parkes will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the High Plains Community Church with Pastor Dan Morgan officiating. Interment will take place later at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette.Ruth Parkes, age 77, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming due to complications of heart surgery.Ruth was born on February 15, 1929 in Grand Junction, Colorado the daughter of Mace and Juanita (Gigax) Ingraham. She attended school in Grand Junction and graduated in 1945. Ruth had three daughters: Illene and Juanita Ruth and Kay. Ruth married Elwood Parkes on October 6, 1990 and lived in their home on 4-J Road until the fall of 2002, when they made their move to the Senior Apartments. She was very active in her church and was a volunteer at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital for many years. Ruth enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting and cooking. Ruth is survived by her husband, Elwood of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter Kay Russell of Grand Junction, Colorado; 2 grandsons: Andrew and David Russell both of Grand Junction, Colorado; son-in-law, Lyle Parkes of Silt, Colorado; granddaughters: Somer Parkes of Silt, Colorado and Missie Valencia of Rifle, Colorado; extended family, Betty Jean Gazzolo, Edna Mae McGee and Sam Wenger all of Gillette, Wyoming and Bob Wenger of Devils Tower, Wyoming.She was preceded in death by her two daughters: Illene and Juanita Ruth.Memorials and condolences may be sent in Ruth?s name in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonwilson.com.
