Memorial services for Judy Diaz-Smiley will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Church of Christ with Pastor Kevin Frank and Pastor Sonjia Brucklacher officiating with a reception to follow.Judy Diaz-Smiley, age 65, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at her home due to pulmonary fibrosis.Judy Karen Diaz-Smiley was born on November 20, 1941 the daughter of Joe and Margurite (Manary) Krumholz in San Diego, California. The family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where her grandfather was a fishing guide and her grandmother owned a restaurant on the Rouge River. Judy went to Grants Pass High School where she was very athletic, participating in every sport that would allow her to play. She had a very outgoing personality that just radiated with a glow. Judy moved back to San Diego where she attended cosmetology school. Judy met and fell in love with Raymond G. Diaz. The couple had 2 children, Tonya Dennise Diaz and Leslie Dennise Diaz (aka: Dena) and then they adopted 2 more daughters, mom would look at us with sparkling eyes that looked like diamonds filled with love and kindness. The couple later divorced. Judy met and married Fred C. Smiley with whom she spent the rest of her life. Fred gave her love and support and never left her side, even when nature called.Judy is survived by her husband of 13 years; 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren.
