Lyle E. Grohs, 78, of Gillette died Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was born in Dimock, SD September 28, 1934. He married Rita Stevens on September 10, 1960. Lyle served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955. Lyle loved working with heavy equipment. He worked for Davison County in SD from 1955 to 1968. From 1968 to 1976 he tried many things including going back to school, and then baking, welding and upholstery. He then moved his family to Wyoming, and returned to working with heavy equipment in the Mining Industry from 1976 to 1991. After his retirement they started a craft business out of their home.Lyle was preceded in death by his mother, Rosella Grohs, and his brother Alvin. He is survived by his wife Rita, and their three children, Theresa (Robert), Michelle (Joseph), and Wayne (Veronica). He is also survived by five half siblings. Lyle and Rita had eleven grandchildren and are expecting their first great grandchild. There will be a viewing from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, on Monday May 27th followed by a rosary at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial for Lyle E.
